Pressure, Business, Patience by Sherikoko

Everytime we pick up our phones,
Everytime we check our social media feed,
Everytime we turn on the TV,
Everytime we take a look at our "mates", we are reminded about everything we want to be that we're not, we are reminded about the quota society uses to rate success and how we need to meet them to be happy. We, myself included, let these dictates define us and we have put in place for ourselves, a system that doesn't favour us.

So in order to get rich quick, youths are now fast to own businesses, which is very good and ambitious I must say. It is better than the illegal means. But being an entrepreneur is not a get rich quick scheme, it is something that takes time, perseverance, consistency and patience. However, this beautiful virtue known as patience is a term alien to most youths because they started with the wrong mind set. Once failure knocks about two times, many are quick to drop the business as fast as they started it. Some even go to the extent of jumping to a whole new trade entirely because apparently, the former one wasn't lucrative. I'm glad to inform you that with the right tools and virtues, you will make money!

I personally picked out a few exercises that helps to develop patience in Nigeria. I promise that this exercises would humble you. Here we go;
1. Lagos traffic:
Dear Lagos residents, I'm sure you get this. There are some places in Lagos that are notoriously know for it's traffic at some particular time of the day especially during the raining season. You can put this to use by using it to develop a major life skill.

2. Mall queues:
I don't need to say much about this, just attempt going to shoprite during Salah, for a more concentrated experience, go in the north. I promise you, you will be humbled.

3. Atm queues:
This one is on a whole new level few days before Christmas. For you to survive this, you must have a certain degree of patience already because on this queue, you will meet people that are raving mad. Nigeria is a country filled with angry people and you will meet a lot of them on this queue, the main obstacle here is for you to remain sane amidst the commotion when someone tries to jump the queue. If you can allow someone cut in front of you under this weather, congratulations you have passed.
