Do We Ever Stop Loving?

You know, each time I hear people say "I fell out of love", I keep asking myself, did they ever really love? Cause to be honest, I don't think we humans ever really stop loving. That is, if you ever loved in the first place, no matter how little it may have been.
Truth be told, your heart is big enough to love every soul in the world and judging from the fact that there are over 7 billion people who look like you and I, that means your heart is really big. That's why when you fall for that person, no matter how bad it may have ended or how much hatred you may claim to harbor within you, have you ever asked yourself why you still get affected or sometimes feel that little iota of pity or sentiment when something is not right with the one you once loved? The truth is you still wanna check up on them, know how they are, know what's up with them, know how they doing or how they feeling, you actually can't help yourself. Sometimes you even catch yourself thinking about what could have been if things hadn't go sour. As much as you hate to admit it, you know I'm not lying. The truth is life has a way of sometimes making us forget that the only constant thing is change, everything changes, most things don't stay the same for long, the moment you're used to something, the moment you think, "oh this is how life is", Life finds a way of surprising you, you never really know what life's gonna throw at you, that's our reality.

Now the question is why? Why still feel like this when you think and know you are "supposed" to detest such a person or if it ended on a good note; stop loving the person? The truth is that love never really goes away, it may diminish, yes, or it may transcend to respect but the fact remains that it still remains there and this is our painful yet the realistic nature of love....
